Wood Flooring

Listone Giordano at Margaritelli has created a highly innovative product, whilst thoughtfully considering the substainability of the forests from which they obtain their timber.  The hardwood trees are cared for throughout their lives until culled for the production line, at which point new trees are planted to replace them. The company is fully certified in substainable management and several other ecologically aware controls.

Each stage of the manufacturing process is a vital ingredient contributing to the finished product: Logs are 'quarter sawn' instead of 'plain sawn', immediately increasing the stability of each plank. Eight layers of varnish protect the upper surface, adding to the durability, whilst being non-toxiv and environmentally friendly. The 5mm top layer is of the finest quality, having been exposed to a unique drying process to prevent warping. Birch plywood is layered beneath the feature wood, positioned perpondicular to it, to reduce movement and increase stability, however, gaps between the plywood layers allow flexibility when the solid hardwood planks need to adjust to their surrounding temperature and humidity.
